🌴 California & Florida
In California, Diesel averaged $4.95 in Aug 2024, climbed to $5.04 in May 2025, before correcting to $4.41 in Aug 2025 (−54¢, −10.9% YoY). Regular gasoline was $4.57 in Aug 2024, peaked at $4.83 in May 2025, and ended at $4.08 in Aug 2025 (−49¢, −10.7%). Premium was at $4.98 in Aug 2024, touched $5.24 in May 2025, and later settled at $4.67 in Aug 2025 (−31¢, −6.2%).
In Florida, Diesel slipped from $3.85 in Aug 2024 to $3.76 in Jul 2025, and settled at $3.64 in Aug 2025 (−21¢, −5.5% YoY). Regular started at $3.41 in Aug 2024, fell to $3.23 in Jul 2025, and closed at $3.05 in Aug 2025 (−36¢, −10.6%). Premium began at $4.15 in Aug 2024, eased to $3.93 in Jul 2025, and ended at $3.82 in Aug 2025 (−33¢, −8.0%).
🏛 Georgia & Illinois
In Georgia, Diesel was $3.77 in Aug 2024, dipped to $3.61 in Jun 2025, and finished at $3.51 in Aug 2025 (−27¢, −7.1% YoY). Regular gasoline started at $3.22 in Aug 2024, declined to $3.02 in Jun 2025, and closed at $2.88 in Aug 2025 (−34¢, −10.6%). Premium opened at $3.96 in Aug 2024, softened to $3.86 in Jun 2025, and ended at $3.70 in Aug 2025 (−26¢, −6.6%).
In Illinois, Diesel stood at $3.92 in Aug 2024, eased to $3.78 in Jul 2025, and dropped further to $3.72 in Aug 2025 (−20¢, −5.1% YoY). Regular gasoline was $3.84 in Aug 2024, slipped to $3.47 in Jul 2025, and settled at $3.29 in Aug 2025 (−55¢, −14.3%). Premium began at $4.80 in Aug 2024, declined to $4.45 in Jul 2025, and finished at $4.28 in Aug 2025 (−52¢, −10.8%).
🏞 North Carolina & New Jersey
In North Carolina, Diesel started at $3.85 in Aug 2024, fell to $3.67 in Feb 2025, and closed at $3.46 in Aug 2025 (−39¢, −10.1% YoY). Regular gasoline was $3.26 in Aug 2024, dropped to $3.03 in Feb 2025, and settled at $2.85 in Aug 2025 (−41¢, −12.6%). Premium opened at $4.05 in Aug 2024, eased to $3.85 in Feb 2025, and ended at $3.70 in Aug 2025 (−35¢, −8.6%).
In New Jersey, Diesel was $3.73 in Aug 2024, briefly rose to $3.84 in Jun 2025, before retreating to $3.69 in Aug 2025 (−4¢, −1.1% YoY). Regular gasoline started at $3.28 in Aug 2024, slipped to $3.20 in Jun 2025, and ended at $2.98 in Aug 2025 (−30¢, −9.1%). Premium was $3.95 in Aug 2024, softened to $3.87 in Jun 2025, and closed at $3.67 in Aug 2025 (−28¢, −7.1%).
🗽 New York & Ohio
In New York, Diesel stood at $4.38 in Aug 2024, dipped to $4.14 in Oct 2024, and landed at $3.83 in Aug 2025 (−55¢, −12.6% YoY). Regular gasoline was $3.55 in Aug 2024, eased to $3.18 in Oct 2024, and settled at $3.09 in Aug 2025 (−47¢, −13.1%). Premium opened at $4.40 in Aug 2024, dropped to $3.65 in Oct 2024, and later recovered slightly to $3.96 in Aug 2025 (−43¢, −9.9%).
In Ohio, Diesel averaged $3.98 in Aug 2024, softened to $3.74 in Nov 2024, and corrected further to $3.66 in Aug 2025 (−32¢, −8.1% YoY). Regular gasoline began at $3.53 in Aug 2024, eased to $3.24 in Nov 2024, and finished at $3.04 in Aug 2025 (−49¢, −13.9%). Premium was $4.53 in Aug 2024, slipped to $4.33 in Nov 2024, and ended at $4.04 in Aug 2025 (−49¢, −10.8%).
🤠 Texas & Pennsylvania
In Texas, Diesel started at $3.34 in Aug 2024, inched up to $3.45 in Feb 2025, and later dropped to $3.13 in Aug 2025 (−21¢, −6.3% YoY). Regular gasoline was $3.04 in Aug 2024, slipped to $2.88 in Feb 2025, and closed at $2.74 in Aug 2025 (−30¢, −9.9%). Premium opened at $3.78 in Aug 2024, declined to $3.28 in Feb 2025, and ended at $3.59 in Aug 2025 (−19¢, −5.0%).
In Pennsylvania, Diesel was $4.29 in Aug 2024, eased to $4.18 in Feb 2025, and settled at $4.01 in Aug 2025 (−28¢, −6.5% YoY). Regular gasoline began at $3.64 in Aug 2024, dipped to $3.51 in Feb 2025, and ended at $3.23 in Aug 2025 (−41¢, −11.3%). Premium stood at $4.39 in Aug 2024, fell to $4.21 in Feb 2025, and closed at $4.00 in Aug 2025 (−39¢, −8.9%).
📊 Key Insights
✨ Regular gasoline saw the steepest relief, with Ohio, Illinois, and New York down 13–14% YoY.
